See the Press Release below: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ TSRS to hold Winston Cup Tickets drawing For release: Thursday, March 20, 2003 Contact: Wynn Wilkerson (512) 848-2648 The Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS), sponsors of the Winston Cup Ticket giveaway that's been promoted on KVET-AM 1300, The Zone, announced they will hold the drawing for the 2 Winston Cup Tickets for the Samsung/Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway at Chisolm Trail Icehouse and Bar-B-Q in north Austin on Friday, March 21 at 12:30 p.m., despite the fact that TSRS cancelled its Event Day with the media. Earlier today, officials of TSRS announced that they were cancelling their Event Day tomorrow because of the impact and importance of the war in Iraq. TSRS has been promoting the Winston Cup Ticket giveaway on KVET-AM 1300 through The Motorsports Zone show, which airs on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. Chuck Licata, host of The Motorsports Zone and TSRS media director, will be at Chisolm Trail Icehouse and Bar-B-Q, located at Hwy. 183 at the Spicewood Springs exit, to do the drawing. The winner of the drawing need not be present to win. Race fans have been able to register for the Winston Cup Tickets drawing at The Zone's web site, www.sportsradio1300.com. NickHolt Posted March 21, 2003 Author Report Share Posted March 21, 2003 Here is the TSRS schedule from Mary Ann Nauman: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ March 22, 2003 Houston Motor Speedway Welcome! 8:00 AM Track Opens - Concession opens (great food!) 8:30 AM Open Practice (only 3 to 4 cars on the track @ a time) 9:00 AM-3:00 PM Tech Open (all cars must be safety inspected by 3:00 PM) 1:00 PM Organized Practice - alternating classes w/HMS (TSRS 30 min increments) 3:00 PM Tech Closed 3:15 PM TSRS Officials/Staff Meeting (garage area-mandatory) 4:00 PM Driver/Crew Chiefs Meeting (garage area-mandatory w/roll call, late arrival or non-attendance, driver will start scratch) 4:45 PM Driver’s Spotters Meeting (garage area-mandatory, each car must have a spotter w/radio correspondence) 6:45 PM Crews set-up on pit road for “Pit Stop Competition” (all teams change the right rear tire, lugs may be glued, only 3 crew members over the wall, only the TSRS - jack, air, air hose and impact may be used) 7:00 PM “Pit Stop Competition” Locks in top 10 - fastest to the pole HMS Races “Jake Race-Qualifying Shootout“ (11th - ???)
