1-Crew Posted August 31, 2009 Report Share Posted August 31, 2009 If you are north, try Diesel Performance in north Round Rock. I've had some work done there and they seemed fair on price at the time (five years ago). At the time it was just two ex Ford mechanics but it could be larger now.. You can get a very nice rebuilt EGR cooler (instead of a delete) from aftermarket (not Ford) although for a F-450 you might not need to pass the otherwise rigorous emissions stuff they have here. I did one on an Excursion about a month ago and it is not fun, you are looking at about 6-8 book hours for the labor. If you haven't heard by now, DO NOT put a K&N or other oil wetted filter on it! This is almost sure death for the Variable Vane turbo. They get gummed up and you have to pull the turbo and get it cleaned.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
