FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: HRP Speedway Series Announces Change In Start Time

 

Officials at Houston Raceway Park confirmed today that the O’Reilly Auto Parts Speedway Series will start one hour later for the balance of the 2009 racing season. The time change will go in affect this Saturday, August 1st. Racing will begin at 8:00pm with spectator gates opening at 7:00pm for all regular Speedway Series events. This does not include the remaining SUPR and Gulf South ASCS Sprint Car Series shows, as they will begin at their originally scheduled times.

 

General Manager, Seth Angel, said the change in time will help both the racers and fans escape the torching summer heat that has covered Southeast Texas. “We want our racing community to enjoy our first class facility in comfort and if that means having the lights on a little longer then that it what we will do.”

 

Houston Raceway Park's O'Reilly Auto Parts Speedway Series features four classes of racing every Saturday night March through October: Baytown Ford Thunder Bomber, VP Racing Fuels Limited Modified, UMP Modified, and the Crate Late Models. They also feature various other classes and Series throughout the season, including the World of Outlaws, ASCS Gulf South Sprint Car Series, SURP Late Model Series, USMTS Dirt Modifieds, Dwarfs, and much much more.

 

Houston Raceway Park is located 25 miles east of downtown Houston off Interstate-10. Take Exit #799 (SH 99 Grand Parkway) and go South to FM 565 (1st exit). Take a right at FM 565 and Houston Raceway Park is located on your right side. The Speedway entrance is located at Gate 3.
