NickHolt Posted July 25, 2009 Report Share Posted July 25, 2009 Johnny Sheets Scores Modified Win at HOT ELM MOTT—Johnny Sheets from Gatesville pulled out an exciting win in the IMCA modified feature Friday night at the Heart O' Texas Speedway. Pat McGuire from Belton and Chase Jupe from West were second and third. Keith White from Academy added another victory to his record in the IMCA SportMod feature chased by the Green brothers, Kevin and T.J., from Robinson. Shannon Dulock from Axtell took home the winner’s trophy in the IMCA hobby stock feature. Michael Guenat from Robinson moved up to second place after a post race inspection found the original second place car illegal. Billy Taylor from Gatesville advanced to third. Sam Sovey from Waco won the scheduled street stock feature, and Jason Honey from Waco claimed the win in the make up feature from June 12. Melvin Kemp Jr. from Waco took home first place for both the scheduled and make up features in the pure stock class. Gordon Coble from Lago Vista continued his winning ways in the cruiser feature followed by William Dean of Elm Mott and Dan Webre Jr. from West. Corbin Suggs from West won the junior mini stock feature. Jordan Kornegay from China Spring and Alex Norris from Elm Mott were second and third. The top three in the Texas Wing Modifieds were Rick Poteet from Hillsboro, Ritchie Robins from Lorena, and Charlie Williams from Meridian. The always popular ASCS Sprints, Gulf South and Lone Star regions, will be visiting next Friday night. IMCA modified, IMCA SportMod, and IMCA hobby stock will be running heats and features. Street stock, pure stock, cruiser, junior mini stock, and Texas twisters will run features only. Gates open at 6:00 P.M. and races begin at 8:00 P.M.
