This will be the first trip to the "Fastest quarter mile in Texas" for the series as it enters its sophomore season. The fast growing late model touring series boosts some of the state's top drivers like Inaugural Texas Super Racing Series season points champion, Ronny New. Series stars like Tommy Gural, Jeff Pollard, Mike Yale, Brad Hudak, Leland Waddell and the Alexander brothers are just a few of the names race fans can expect to see at this weekend at this spectacular racing event. During last year's debut season, the Texas Super Racing Series averaged between 27 and 32 cars per race, but only 24 drivers will be allowed to make the field for this event. With sixty-four drivers competing in at least one event during the Inaugural Texas Super Racing Series campaign coupled with a recent announcement by series Public Relations Director, Lisa Painter, that twelve new drivers have joined the series, qualifying for Saturday's race will be intense. "This is our first visit to Corpus Christi Speedway for the series," said Texas Super Racing Series founder, Mary Ann Naumann. "We are all thrilled to compete at this legendary track where so many greats have competed including Corpus Christi native, Terry Labonte. My own Father, the late Jake Wallace raced at this same track several times in his racing career, I remembering going there many times. The new Track Owner, "Doc" and General Manager, Owen Pitman are doing an incredible job of making sure their race fans are entertained, this too should be a show to see!" Gates open at 6:00PM with qualifying begins at 7:15PM. Racing will start at 8:00PM. Please visit the series web page at manracingpromotions.com for more information on the Texas Super Racing Series.
