July 3rd and 4th Spectacular

Recommended Posts

This weekend, July 3rd and 4th it's the much anticipated return of the ASCS Sprint Cars at Texana Raceway Park. As of the close of business on Thursday, June 25th, Keith Johnson (ASCS Gulf South Promoter) already had 24 cars committed for this weekend.

In 2008, the ASCS Sprint Cars made their first ever visit to Texana Raceway Park. The winged warriors were clocked at 110 mph on the Texana dirt.

You can get your very own copy of the flyer, print it out and bring it to the track for the drivers to autograph. Go to

http://www.texanaracewaypark.org/ascs09/Te...flyer-20091.pdf

Also, to the Texana home page at www.texanaracewaypark.org and see the special additions to the front page in honor of our nations birthday, complete with vocals from Lee Greenwood.

The show kicks off this Friday night with the ASCS Sprint Cars running for $2,000 to win. Current points leader, 19 year old Aaron Reutzel comes into the event with less than a 100 point lead in the series over RayAllen Kulhanek.

Also running with the ASCS Sprint Cars on Friday night will be the Texana Teen Mini-Stocks, Texana Classic Dwarfs, and the fan favorite Hot Stock Truck division. The local points competion is very close in each of these classes at the raceway as the season has cleared the mid point in the season.

The Texana Teen Mini-Stocks received an added $150 thus far in their purse provided by Plum Crazy Trucking and an anonymous sponsor. Plus, there is another deal to hopefully tie up on Tuesday to add even more in the purse for the Teen Mini-Stocks. Only 80 points separate the top three in Mini-stocks. And, the ladies of Texana have made the boys take notice as the stars of tomorrow in the Mini-Stock division consist of three ladies in the top five in points. When the ladies show up to race, the boys have definitely taken notice with any one of the ladies in the Mini-Stock division poised to take a feature win very soon.

If one night of winged sprint car action wasn't enough, the teams will be staying over and putting on Round 2 of the show on July 4th. The ASCS Sprint Cars will be running for another $2,000 to win with more payout added within the field. Running with the Sprints on Saturday night will be the Texana Bombers, Limited Modifieds, and Modifieds. As always, Limited Modifieds will be running for $700 to win and Modifieds will be $800 to win.

The Texana Bombers have been sponsored on July 4th thus far by Plum Crazy Trucking, R and J Entertainment of Ganado, Shawn Kline, and other, with $100 added to first place, $50 added to each place in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, and $25 added to 7th place thus far, with more anticipated to be added over the course of the week.

General admission prices will be $15, $12 for seniors, and $8 for children 6-12. Under 6 is free. There will be no increase in any racer fees or pit passes for this event.

Don't miss it this Friday and Saturday at Texana Raceway Park. The winged ASCS Sprint Cars in action at Texana Raceway Park in Edna on July 3rd and 4th!

Another Sponsor for Mini-Stocks and Bombers has jumped on board for this weekend.

Integrity Tire and Auto of Richmond is sponsoring an additional $100 for the Texana Teen Mini-Stocks purse on Friday and an additional $100 for the Texana Bombers on Saturday.

Here is the latest rundown on each of the purse increases:

Texana Teen Mini-Stocks: $50 extra to be divided up in $10 increments, 1st - 5th from Plum Crazy Trucking, $100 extra from anonymous sponsor, and $100 extra from Integrity Tire and Auto of Richmond. Total thus far of $250 extra in the Texana Teen Mini-Stock purse for Friday, July 3rd. We'll post soon how we plan to break down all of the sponsorship money in the mini's. We will probably be doing $50 of it as a drawing for any that start the feature, while they are doing their pace laps...

Texana Bombers: $50 extra to 1st place from Plum Crazy Trucking, $50 extra to 1st from R and J Entertainment of Ganado, $50 extra to 1st place from Integrity Tire and Auto of Richmond, $50 extra for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th from someone who loves the fender cars, $50 extra for 6th place from Integrity Tire and Auto of Richmond, $25 extra for 7th place from Shawn Kline. This makes a total purse increase thus far of $425 from sponsorship dollars. 1st place will be a total take home of $400 as of this writing.

It's only Tuesday evening, and folks are still shaking the trees..... Stay tuned!

An anonymous sponsor has added $50 to be added to 1st place if any STS Pure Stock regular competitor can come in on Saturday and win the feature. Thus, this would be a possible $450 to win for any STS Pure Stock regular or maybe even more for a STS Pure Stock regular before the weekend gets here if we get more sponsors.

Remember this added potential bonus is only for STS Pure Stock regulars only. Others are still at $400 as of this writing... The sponsor offering this money is from the Corpus area and knows who the STS Pure Stock regulars are....

Looks like the Bomber drivers better have the "A" game on this Saturday. Special thanks go out to Adam and Janet Perks this week assisting in rounding up the sponsors. Incredible!

And now..... Sponsors have added to Saturday's Limited Mod and Mod purses. It's $1,000 to win in Limited Mods and $1,000 to win in Modifieds this Saturday, July 4th. Good money for all this huge weekend.

Also, Bruce wanted to let everyone know if you still have any of the new soft hoosiers on the Limiteds, they'll be allowed thru this weekend, but not after this weekend... It'll be back to how we started the season with the AR's and the previous hoosiers....
