texana55 Posted June 21, 2009 Report Share Posted June 21, 2009 As mentioned at the drivers meeting on Saturday, the classes will be split up on July 3rd and 4th to run with the ASCS Sprint Cars. Bombers will be running on July 4th. At the drivers meeting I made the announcement that I've committed $200 to be broken up with $50 extra for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the Bombers on July 4th. Right after the drivers meeting, the Perks family (Adam & Janet) approached me and committed to $50 for 1st place on July 4th sponsored by Plum Crazy Trucking. So, as of this writing we have $250 commited with $50 more on 1st place making it $300 to win, and $50 extra for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th for Bombers on July 4th. Would sure like to build on this trend and keep the ball rolling to build up a nice purse for the Bombers on July 4th and put on our very own fireworks show with a performance in the Bombers. But, it takes us as drivers in the class to generate the interest from the potential sponsors. The track has a consistent commitment, but increased purse for a class comes from someone taking an interest in the class. A sponsor committing just $50 or even $25 starts to add up. A little here, a little there and before you know it we have a pretty healthy increase built up throughout the field. The challenge is on for the bomber drivers to solicit even more sponsorship money for July 4th and solicit all of the Bomber cars to run a full field on July 4th. If you've followed some of the trends as of late at some other tracks, there have been some good purses established with using this type of grass-roots approach with several small sponsorships added together. Watching this type of trend at other tracks, it is amazing how quick the purse starts to build up and how much interest it generates with a little here and a little there. Just received a message with a sponsorship of another $50 to be added to 1st in Bombers on July 4th. This sponsorship is from R and J Entertainment based in Ganado. At present, if you're keeping track, we are up to $350 to win in Bombers on July 4th and $50 extra for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. $300 total pumped into the Bomber purse at present. And this afternoon also received another sponsorship from Plum Crazy Trucking to boost up the mini-stock purse on July 3rd. Plum Crazy Trucking is sponsoring $50 in the mini-stocks by adding $10 each for 1st place thru 5th place. Thank you R and J Entertainment of Ganado, and Plum Crazy Trucking for each of your sponsorships for the 4th of July weekend. This grass-roots sponsorship thing just might take off. Bring 'em on!!! Please make note that with the ASCS Sprints at Texana, the general admission prices each individual night will be $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $8 for children 6-12, and under 6 yrs of age is free. There will be no changes in cost for pit passes or racers fees on this weekend! Normal costs on these two nights for anything / anyone coming in the pits. July 4th: $50 added to 1st place in Bombers by Plum Crazy Trucking and $50 added to 1st place by R and J Entertainment of Ganado. This presently makes it $350 to win in Bombers $50 added to each place for 2nd - 4th, making in an extra $50 added to each of those. $25 added to 7th place from LMR11 July 3rd $10 added to each place 1st thru 5th in Mini-Stocks by Plum Crazy Trucking Thank you everyone who as jumped on to boost up the purses for the 4th of July weekend when the ASCS Sprints come to town for their 2 day show. Now, we have one week til showtime. Let's see if we can shake the trees for any businesses who love the fender classes and get more added to the Bomber purse where ever the sponsors want it placed!
