TRP Posted June 19, 2009 Report Share Posted June 19, 2009 Texana Raceway Park in Edna, Texas is preparing to usher in the modifieds this Saturday hosting the South Texas Championship Modified Series. Modifieds will be runnnig for points in this 2nd of a 9 series quest. Late Thursday, owner Bruce Tesch received the call from three sponsors increasing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for Limited Modifieds this Saturday, June 20th. Two sponsors who have requested to remain anonymous, along with Mickeys Auto Service and Towing have carried in extra purse money. It is now $1,000 to win in Limited Modifieds this Saturday. On top of that, $50 will be added to 2nd place and $50 will be added to third place. As always, the sponsors prescribe where any additional purse will be added. There are a couple of other potential sponsors in the works and we'll see if we get those pulled together before Saturday. If we seal the deal on more I'll update this thread. But, these additions are a done deal, so the teams will have some good money on the line to chase. And, it is still $1,000 to win in the Modifieds and they're running for points in the South Texas Championship Modified Series. It's been a very long time since Texana Raceway Park has had $1,000 to win in both of these classes on the same night, but this Saturday night it will happen.
