700+ Feature Wins driver at Texana on the 25th

Nationally know driver and fabricator Wayne Brooks from Shaw by Brooks Race cars is scheduled to be at Texana Raceway Park, this Saturday, April 25th. Wayne will be competing in the Limited Modified Division and debuting his first ever UFO Limited Modified Shaw by Brooks car, which was ordered by a south Texas racer. Following the nights event, it is my understanding that the team who ordered the car will be taking it home after the races.

 

Many across the country have taken the highly rated Brook Shaw Driving School. Wayne has offered to come in early on Saturday or stay over on Sunday if anyone wants a mini-school. We've been very pleased over the last couple of years to have several of the best known names in dirt track racing come thru Edna, Texas and compete on the Texana Dirt, and Wayne will be another for the books.

 

For those who are not familiar with Wayne's impressive accomplishments, here is short passage from his bio:

 

.......When Wayne first started getting involved with cars he worked for his Father in the family's salvage yard helping to strip the cars. His first priority as a young man was to collect all the loose change he found whenever a different car would come into the salvage yard. After that he went on to work at the local Napa Auto parts store and started to race at the local track. After racing there and winning the Track Championship, Wayne started to travel around the southeast part of the United States and won numerous races in the region. To date he has won over 700 features in his 40 years of racing. The biggest win of his career came in 2000 at the Dirt Open Wheel Modified race at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee in front of over 60,000 fans. The biggest paying race Wayne has won was the $20,000 to win Longhorn Roundup in Royce City, Texas, which he has won twice.

 

Many of the products you see on today's race cars, including many engine products, were developed with the assistance of Wayne Brooks. He has worked closely with Competion Cams, Schoenfeld Headers, Bilstien Shocks, and Federal Mogal to help develop their products.....

 

 

Having personally met Wayne, I can tell you he is as nice as they come and an absolute scientist on dirt race car set-ups.
