super stock rules

Has anyone noticed the change in superstock rules for TRP? Minimum weight is now 2800 lbs with no penalty for spec tires and no break for asphalt pulloffs. Is this correct or a typo? The heading at the top of the rules still states that it is for 2008.

The owner made a change to the rules for consistent application of 2,800 lbs. When the rules were implemented in 2008, it was a desired attempt at creating rules that the former Late Model Stocks in the Houston area could merge with. But, with Stacy out of the picture for the group, the organization pretty much disbanded. The varying weights for the class and the extra weight penalty in front of the firewall for certain tires, just became a fiasco to work with. So, the owner wanted one weight to work with.

He asked for us to change the language in the weight area and in the tire area where weight was referenced. Thanks for bringing up the header on the rules. We'll correct or delete the reference to the year.

Thanks - Monty

Cool, now if they would just allow any tire with the same sectional width it would be nice... I like to buy used tires...or discounted tires from the factory...but there always some sort of variation..so tough to find legal tires.....and since we dont have a compound rule there would not be any difference...right?

At first opportunity, maybe next race as it is first night for supers, prolly be good to get with Bruce and see what the group can do. He did ask me to let everyone know that the spec tire, D series, is being discontinued and when those are sold out, that's all for that tire.
