txtom
Ya'll may remember a few weeks ago an article that stated that the Five Flags racing surface had undergone a grinding process. It was speculated that it would make the track a little faster. This article is from the track website about their opening night-- Mar 21 2009 5 Flags Opens with Record Speeds Five Flags Speedway opened the 2009 racing season Friday night with Brandon Odom of DeFuniak Springs winning the Pro Late Model feature. The question of whether or not offseason improvements to the racing surface would produce faster speeds was quickly answered as three drivers broke the Pro Late Model track record during qualifying. In setting fast time, Odom lowered the record of 17.23 seconds to 16.99.
Snowball
Those were Pro latemodels too! Curious to see what the Supers will run! Also, the speeds didn't fall off nearly as much during racing conditions! There was a significant difference.
