(NYSE:TRK) today announced the promotion of Eddie Gossage to president of Texas Motor Speedway. Gossage has served as the executive vice president and general manager of Texas Motor Speedway since 1995. "Eddie has done an outstanding job bringing Texas Motor Speedway from nothing more than an idea to one of the top sports facilities in the world," said O. Bruton Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Speedway Motorsports. "There is a big difference between a race organizer and a race promoter. Eddie is a true promoter who understands the urgency and effort required to be successful. "Texas Motor Speedway, under Eddie's leadership, has set the standard that other speedways must now follow in regards to entertainment, value and customer satisfaction." Prior to Texas, Gossage served as vice president of public relations at Lowe's Motor Speedway from 1989 to 1995. Gossage previously worked at Miller Brewing Company in its motorsports public relations program and served in various public relations and managerial capacities at two other NASCAR-sanctioned speedways. Didn't go the race but was thru Charlotte a few weeks after the race and picked it up. In the back, under Officials for the Race.... After all the Smiths and Wheelers in the section "Race Staff", and listed in "Press Operations"... "Eddie Gossage".....
