Yours is 1/2 mechanical and 1/2 electronic, when they took out the sulfer in the fuel they had problems because there is only a small out heat treated surface and when that is gone thats it, one preventive fix is people are adding a additional lift pump to help prevent as well as put additive in the tank so often to keep lubed.
