Travis Robers wins NasKart final at Houston Raceway Park

Recommended Posts

Travis Roberts Driving the #10 Brian Kemple owned NasKart did an exceptional job of holding off the hard charging #9 NasKart owned by Marty Krites and driven by the Oklahoma Kid "Chris Terry and the NasKarts Series points leader Lyndon Kirk.

Not only did Travis win the race but also clinched the NasKarts Points Championship for Brian Kemple and his #10 kart.

The #10 came into the race one point behind the leader Lyndon Kirk. It was an exciting race with Travis out front for the first half of the race. On the restart after the mandatory competition yellow, the #10 stumbled allowing Chris Terry's #9 and Lyndon Kirks #20 to get by. Travis put on a driving clinic for everyone as he went three wide comming out of turn 4 to motor past to retake the lead. He never looked back and easily won the race.

In talking with Travis after the race, he stated it was quite a change to be in a competitive NasKart for the first time this year. Travis had been driving the #14 Roy Smith owned NasKart that had not had a decent motor to keep pace with the extra horsepower of the other guys. It was unfortunate Travis didn't have a first class ride for the 2008 season because with his talent he could of had a shot at the championship himself.

Rumer has it that Marty Krites may offer him a ride next year so he can compete for the championship in a competitive kart for the 2009 season.
