I-37 Raceway will have 10-15 cars entered into the Hondo Parade (coming up next wk) and we will also have a table setup at the fair grounds, if anyone would like to come see us.

We hope you guys can make it. See you there.

 

Here is some info about the Medina County Fair.

 

 

Fair Admission: $5 per person

Children 6 - 12 years old: $2 per person

Children 5 & Under: FREE

 

Fairground Gates Open at 10:00 am

on Saturday & Sunday, September 20 & 21

 

Concert Gates Open at 7:00 pm

Opening Act Rodney Hayden Band starts at 8:00 pm

$15 Presale Tickets for Kevin Fowler at Generation Tex

or $20 (Fair Members - $15) at the Gate the Night of the Show

 

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

Due to the weather situation with Hurricane Ike,

the Steer and Heifer Prospect Show has been postponed until September 27th & 28th.

 

Friday, September 19

8:00 - 11:00 am: Entries will be accepted at the Medina County Fair Exhibit Hall.

All Adult entries (with the exception of baked foods, wines and beverages, horticulture and floral) will be received.

All Youth entries (canned foods, clothing, crafts, fine arts, youth arts, floral, furniture, scrap booking, horticulture, needlework, photography, quilts) will be received. (Baked foods on Saturday)

1:00 pm: Judging begins.

Hall is NOT Open to the Public.

5:00 pm: Registration for Antique Tractor Pull

7:00 pm: Antique Tractor Pull Classes 2600 to 4600

 

 

Saturday, September 20

7:00 am: Goats may arrive.

8:00 am: Registration for Antique Tractor Pull

8:00 am - 10:00 am: Meat Goat Check-In & Weigh-In

8:30 am - 9:30 am: The following Entries will be accepted at the Medina County Fair Exhibit Hall:

 

Adult: Baked food, Horticulture and Floral entries received.

Youth: Baked food entries received.

10:00 am: Parade Begins ~ Downtown Hondo ~

Fairground Gates Open

Antique Tractor Pull Begins with Class 5100

 

Goat Show

Senior Goat Showmanship (Grades 9 - 12)

Goat Show will follow Showmanship

 

 

10:00 am - 11:00 am: Ranch Rodeo Sign-In

10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Home Arts Exhibit Open to the Public (Exhibit Hall)

10:45 pm: Cowboy Meeting

11:00 am: Ranch Rodeo

Steer Loading, Calf Branding, Steer Tying, Steer Necking & Stampede Race, Mutton Bustin

After the first two events, we will have worship.

 

11:00 am: Karaoke (Stage 2)

11:00 am - 7:00 pm: Petting Zoo (Show Barn)

11:30 am - 1:00 pm: Buster Jiggs Band (Stage 1)

1:00 pm - 1:30 pm: Indian Dancers

1:30 pm - 3:00 pm:

1:30 pm - 3:30 pm: The Vinyl 45's Band (Stage 1)

2:00 pm: Baked Goods Sales (Exhibit Hall)

Proceeds Benefit Medina County Fair Scholarships

 

 

3:00 pm: FREE GAMES (Children & Adults):

Egg Toss, Water Balloon Toss, Sack Races, Stick Horse Races, Dunking for Apples, Cow Chip Throw

 

4:00 pm - 7:30 pm: Jack Levitt Band (Stage 1)

5:00 pm: Prize Winning Baked Goods AUCTION (Stage 1)

Proceeds benefit Medina County Fair Scholarships

 

6:00 pm: Hall closes for the day.

6:00 - 7:30 pm: Hospitality Dinner for All Sponsors, Bake Sale Buyers, Directors & Spouses (Pavilion)

7:00 pm: Concert Gates Open

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm*: Rodney Hayden Band (MAIN STAGE)

10:00 pm - Midnight*: Kevin Fowler (MAIN STAGE)

Sunday, September 21

8:00 am - 10:00 am: Lamb Check-In & Weigh-In

Friday, September 26

1:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Steers & Heifers may begin moving in (NOT required; no night security).

 

Saturday, September 27

Prior to 1:00 pm: Steers & Heifers must be in place.

1:00 - 2:00 pm: Check Heifer Registration Papers (no health papers required).

Heifers eligible for the State Fair of Texas are eligible for this show.

3:00 - 6:00 pm: Weigh & Classify Steers

No Weight Limits

3:00 pm: Senior Heifer Showmanship (Grades 9 - 12)

Junior Heifer Showmanship (Grades 3 - 8)

Pee Wee Heifer Showmanship (Grades 1 - 3)

Heifer Show (American, British, Exotic - Showing Individual Breeds)

 

 

Sunday, September 28
