NickHolt
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tex Motorsports Marketing www.texmotorsports.com Contact: Chris Ragle Trey Mitchell Posts Solid Top Ten in PASS South Series Debut Wimberley, TX (September 2, 2008) - While a ninth place finish may be recorded next to Trey Mitchell’s name in PASS South series history books, that won’t quite describe his series debut in the Piedmont Pride 125 at the Caraway Speedway. Being lead by legendary racer and crew chief Freddie Query, the Trey Mitchell Racing team quickly tuned the #147 SponsorTrey.com Ford Fusion during the day’s practice to the liking of Mitchell which left him hopes at the time of the green flag. After taking the green flag of the 125 lap event from the fifteenth position, Mitchell quickly moved within the top ten, a position which he maintained throughout the event. A long green flag run played into the favor of the Trey Mitchell Racing team as his crate motor powered car was quicker through the turns as the result of an excellent handling racecar in comparison to his higher horse powered foes who could overpower him down the straight-aways on short runs. After racing his way to the front, Mitchell found himself sitting fourth and in position to make the most of his PASS South series debut with just three laps remaining when fellow competitor and former ARCA Remax series winner Billy Leslie decided to spin out the third different driver of the night. The contact sent both drivers to the pits to make minor repairs before rejoining the tail end of the field as the last two cars on the lead lap with only a green-white-checkered finish to decide the end. Unable to make any ground up on cars for position Mitchell brought home a solid yet disappointing ninth place finish against some of the stiffest competition the youngster has ever raced against. “Man we had a good run going until the end there when that #187 (Billy Leslie) decided to just run us over and cost both of us a good finish. Overall though this was a really good night for me against some good drivers and I’m pretty sure a few people took notice of what our team is capable of. It was great to race against all these PASS South guys, it was a wild night but there were a lot of new faces here including myself so that may have had something to do with it who knows,” stated Mitchell after the race. Next up for the Trey Mitchell Racing team will be an ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour race at the Hickory Motor Speedway on September 20th.
