ChuckLicata Posted January 22, 2004 Report Share Posted January 22, 2004 JOB MARKET GOOD IN 2004 AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY FORT WORTH-DALLAS (January 22, 2004) - If you have ever wanted to know what it would be like to work at the largest sports facility in Texas, here is your chance! Texas Motor Speedway will be hosting a job fair in the NEXTEL Cup Series garage on Saturday, February 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to fill positions for major events to be held at the speedway in 2004. A wide variety of event positions are available for speedway departments, concessions, and merchandising. In addition to the extra income, workers will help stage the largest sports event annually in Texas, the Samsung/RadioShack 500 scheduled for Sunday, April 4th. Speedway departments participating in the job fair and openings include: Operations: Ushers, wheel fence workers, security guards, emergency medical services, fire and rescue personnel. Tickets: Ticket sellers. Levy Restaurants Concessions and Suites: Area concession supervisors, warehouse operations, non-profit groups to work in concession stands and other part-time hourly positions as well as suite workers and bartenders. Levy Restaurants Catering: TABC-certified bartenders, suite food attendants, kitchen food production personnel. SMI Properties Merchandising: Sales associates, gift shop staff. The 2004 season kicks off April 1-4 with the Samsung/RadioShack 500 weekend for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series, and Crown Royal IROC Series. The Bombardier 500k weekend June 10-11 includes the Indy Racing League and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as does the Chevy 500k events Oct. 15-17. Texas Motor Speedway, Levy Restaurants, and SMI Properties personnel will be present at the job fair to provide information about each available position.
