TRP Posted July 14, 2008 Report Share Posted July 14, 2008 This Saturday, July 19th at Texana Raceway Park will be the Annual Kids Bicycles Give-Away!!! An annual tradition at TRP, last year saw 38 bicycles and 3 tricycles given away with numerous other items thrown to the fans. If you've been involved in this, you know how large of an event this is, and how many happy kids there are. Bicycles are donated by various race teams, supporters, and a number of bikes are provided by the track. Counting the trikes, we broke the 40 marker last year. Let's see if we can meet or beat that this year and maybe even hit 50. Bicycles should be new. You can bring them with you to the track on Saturday. We will collect them in a holding area and have a staff member logging donors. We will announce all of the donors that we have on the list just before the drawings start at Intermission. So bring them over to the holding area when you get to the track. Also, if you want to visibly recognize your sponsors or your team, make a sign and place it on the bicycle(s). This is an absolute heart-warming event!!! We will be running all seven classes on Saturday night for this event, so everyone has the chance to be involved. TRP Posted July 17, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2008 Texana Raceway Park has acquired the services of a special guest announcer for the evening's events. This special guest announcer will be filling in for our regular announcer (Bob Nason) who will be covering little league playoffs on a radio broadcast. The guest announcer helped us out in a pinch earlier this season and was a big hit with the fans. But, he is normally known for his superior written material covering events at tracks across Texas.
