Truck38 Posted July 11, 2008 Report Share Posted July 11, 2008 So I just finished assembling the transmission everything went together real nice, all new clutches and everything. BUT I have a question, since I followed step-by-step instructions there were some things that were ambiguous. 1st - check balls do you need all of them? My instructions during disassembly said to take note of their location but on the assembly it only talked about installing the first one. Did it mean for me to only install the #1 check ball or did they just forget to add a line saying install the rest of them. I installed them where I found them because that's how I was taught to put things back together. 2nd - I can turn the input shaft by hand and everything seemed good with endplay & clearances when I was putting it together BUT I could not turn the pump by hand is that normal? I didn't check that before I disassembled it and it is already 11 and I have to work tomorrow so I can't check it until tomorrow afternoon so I thought I would ask someone.
