Deon has joined up with 5K Motorsports and their ASA efforts with drivers Kris Stump, Cody Smith and Brett Moffitt. mastermind Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 The cool thing about 5k motorsports is that most of them use to work at Hendrix Motorsports. Cody's crew chief used to be Jeff Gordon's car chief. From what I've been told, the guys at 5k motorsports wanted to stay close to home instead of traveling every weekend for 11 months out of the year. So they started a driver development program in Wisconsin. Brett's crew chief (Chris Purdy) is moving back to North Carolina to chase a lady??? Chris is getting his old job back from Hendrix Motorsports. This team definitely has the potential to go to the top, and they have the major contacts needed to move a good driver to the top. Cody was 10th fastest last weekend, but everything got rained out at La Crosse Wis. The race was already rescheduled from earlier this year.
