Blizzard series postponed until May 30th

May 23 2008 --- Blizzard turns to Rain

 

The Super Late Model Blizzard Series race at Five Flags Speedway was postponed Friday night because of heavy rains and ligtening.

 

The race, along with Super Stock, Sportsman and Bomber features, has been rescheduled for next Friday, May 30.

 

It started raining at 6 p.m. and continued lightning made it a concern for the safety of drivers, crews and fans.

 

“All local weather authorities that we were in contact with indicated that the weather was still in our area and would remain so well into the night,” said Tim Bryant, track promoter. “By the time we could have got the track in race condition, we felt it would be entirely too late.”
