FASCAR MEETING

December 16, 2003

FASCAR received two checks from Toner Imaging for a total of $343.50. FASCAR gained over $2000 from printer cartridge recycling in 2003. An additional container for cartridge donations will be placed in the pits next year.

The revised by-laws were updated on the (FASCAR) website.

Letters announcing the FASCAR contingency fund will be mailed to SAS drivers this week. A copy of the letter will also be posted on Texas Speed Zone and the FASCAR websites.

Vince Treitch was chosen to receive the $500 Mary Balzer Memorial Driver of the Year Award.

Pete Peters, Paul Lozano and Jean Nesser were nominated for the Joann Peters Spirit of Racing award. Qualified members voted by written ballot, and the winner will be announced at the SAS banquet on January 24.

Members discussed the possibility of moving the February 15 Daytona Watch Party to the Firehouse Pub & Grill on Walzem Road. The cost would be approximately $10 per person. Concern was expressed about the cost of the food and room capacity. A decision was made to continue the party at Tex's Bar & Grill. Members were asked to start looking for sponsors and door prize donations for the party. The party will not include a car show.

Christmas cards will be sent to all SAS drivers

Officer elections will be held at next month's meeting. Vernon Burke, Pete Peters and Jim Creech were appointed as members of the nominating committee.

The Member Bonus Awards for the Roadrunner and Women on Wheels classes will be determined as follows: When 5-10 cars start the feature race, the bonus amount will be $10. When ten or more cars start the feature race, the award will increase to $20. If less than ten cars start the feature race, the award will not roll over to the following week.

Members voted to contribute $2300 to the Drivers' Point Fund from our FASCAR account. FASCAR will present the check to Mike before the end of December.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 20.
