dancer52
Wow...you are really making a mess of those rules... no latemodel bodies.....bert or brinns allowed....
Braunfels99
They are the same rules as last year I believe. The body panel rule ought to be amended I think, but also don't see a car getting turned away for that. Wallace had a late model type body last year....and he ran twice ... sprintsrule
Why would Methanol have a 100 pound weight penalty?
Williams
Wow...you are really making a mess of those rules... no latemodel bodies.....bert or brinns allowed.... I have to agree with the latemodel bodies issue, doesnt make car faster and keeps from having three classes that look the same. also I thought that the old latemodels from the asphalt were invited to run. KISS_Racing
Rule 6.6 Emergency kill switch must be easily accessible inside driver compartment. I want to pole the drivers and will probably turn this one into a seperate thread. I'm wondering who is killing +12V and who is killing Ground? And why? jbarnec
Well, you effectively stopped any of the STS Hobby cars from coming to run at your track. Too bad, would have been nice to have 2 tracks to race at.
Braunfels99
There not referring to those mustangs....besides the wheelbase rule overrides that...
sprintsrule
Why penalize Methanol? It seems safer, the engines are easier to cool, it is not a horsepower advantage and they have to carry twice as much so they are already under a weight penalty. walt
What part of the rules stops you from running a hobby stock.. ???
jbarnec
UHH, maybe the part about 10" tires vs. 8" tires....
Taz Racing
I'm not really sure which class the hobby stocks would fit into the best but it's your decision based on what all has been done to your car. Barry Majors ran at STS as a hobby stock and I-37 as a street stock last season and took the championship. Richard Bartosh ran in the super stock class with 8 inch tires and took 4th. If Barry can make it work and still be competitive at both tracks, then it sounds like a few sacrifices could be possibly done so that you can race at both tracks. Hope to see you at both tracks JMO Gary Hunter
railer
What part of the rules stops you from running a hobby stock.. ??? Well its ok to run 8'' tires but the guy that got 4th if he would have had 10''tires would he have done better? The tire rule says up to 10'' wheels ok, but could you run up to 15'' tire ? possible 15'' vs 8'' . I see that any tire combination too. I guess Ill run 8'' due to thats all I got and do the best of it.
KISS_Racing
railer, I haven't travel to any other dirt tracks, but I'm being told that there are racers that run wider tires on 10" wide wheels. The 15" wide will be the contact patch.
Harlin Covert
Well, you effectively stopped any of the STS Hobby cars from coming to run at your track. Too bad, would have been nice to have 2 tracks to race at. These are the same rules that I37 has had for several years. STS changed there rules and stoped us from running there track. Now you want I37 to change there rules so you can race there. But then we will have to change all our cars to match you. KISS_Racing
I want to address the rules for ALL classes. Prior to the purchase of the track there were people on here asking all kinds of questions and wanting answers. Eric took on the rules trying to get them done in a timely manner, he asked Chris and Gary Swenson as well as several others. He tried to make it where we would get the most cars, yet keep it fair. The alternative was to rewrite the rules completely and everybody would have to make changes. Now, I believe what you will find is for 2009 we will see changes. What changes, I don't know and will not be a part of the decision making process. I will ask again that everyone try to remain positive, if you have questions, PM Cassie and she will add them to her already long list and get back with you. Thanks again for everyones support... Get your cars ready cause we are fixing to do some promo's, parades, festival's and other stuff! Mark
