tqj3
New owners Jackie and Joe Gonzales were part of the ccrew on Saturday as one of the major projects at I-37 Raceway, increasing the spectator bleacher space, started with volunteers transporting about a dozen sections from the old Texas Dirt Speedway to I-37 Raceway. With the work last week to straighten the water tanks at the front of the property as well as a general clean-up, the appearance of the track is improving rapidly. The increased "curb appeal" (real estate lingo for how the place looks as someone drives up to the driveway) will help attract spectators and sponsors as well as making everyone; drivers, fans and owners, proud of the facility and proud to be part of it. All of the work won't be done by the Test 'n' Tune on February 9, but it will be done by opening night (March 14) and everyone at the Test 'n' Tune will be able to see a lot of positive change. And, yes, track preparation has already started. [resized by Nick Holt, 1/28/08]
