Summary of Rule Updates

Below is the information that was provided as a handout at the banquet on Dec. 8th. This is a rundown of updates. Note the ages for mini-stock in 2008. Most other items are clarification updates and nothing major.

 

Bruce is getting the details ironed out with the Southern Late Model Stocks and Super Stocks merger. Unless we missed someone in that class, I think he was able to discuss it with everyone who was at the banquet. The full 2008 rules will be merged and posted on the website soon. But, the information below is what will be rolled into the existing rules.

Mini Stocks

Ages for 2008 will be 13 – 16. If a driver turns 17 years old after the first practice night, they will be allowed to compete for the remainder of the season. Must be a minimum of 13 years old to start competing.

 

New section 4.4 to be added as follows: 13” Hoosier tire will be allowed

 

Addition to 3.5 as follows: Welded rear-end is allowed.

 

2.1.9 edited as follows: Stock manifold or header is allowed.

 

 

Texana Class Dwarf Cars

Rules as established by club

 

Bombers

1.1 edited as follows: Delete pick-ups allowed.

 

2.4 edited as follows: Screw in or pinned studs and guide plates allowed. No other alterations

 

2.6 deleted. Deleted claimer on carburetor

 

Addition of 2.11 as follows: Engine Placement - #1 spark plug must be a minimum of 1” in front of center of ball joint on driver’s side. No further setback of engine allowed.

 

3.2 edited as follows: Stock production rear-end

 

Hot Stock Trucks

No rule changes

 

Super Stocks

Rules being merged with Southern Late Model Stock Association rules. Primary change will be tires with a six race moratorium for the wider tires, 4 barrels allowed, no methanol, and minimum weight clarification. Complete rules are being finalized in concert with the Southern Late Model Stock Association, and will be discussed with the Super Stock drivers.

 

Limited Modifieds

No changes. Will continue to follow IMCA Sportmod and Limited modified rules

 

Modifieds

Delete weight penalty for roller cam.

A. J. - I'm anticipating receiving the text near Jan. 1 for the Supers/LMS, but in the mean time, give Bruce a call if you need a specific item or clarification to get your parts.
