Seeing several Snowflake entries that used to run the SLMs-- Pollard, Senter, etc.

Still going to see two stout fields of Late Models, I think the PLM last chance race is going to be a wild one.

I agree that the pro's are groing, but the Supers had one of their strongest years in a long time in the South East. The Blizzard series averaged over 30 cars per race. Opp had strong fields except for the Alabama 200 which was a new race. Mobile did well with counts in the Mid 20's. The PASS South series had between 25 and 30 cars for most of their races. We will be having the new ASA Super Latemodel series next year. The new sealed motors by McGunnegil and Hamner have helped too. They are still expensive, but about half the price of the built motors. I think Supers will be OK hopefully. I hate that they have died in Texas! They used to be pretty strong over there.

I like the supers to don't get me wrong. They are still strong in the southeast but thats it.Out on the east coast(where the super counts used to be good) the LM stocks have takin over and they run crates.

They are strong in the Midwest too. The new ASA Midwest tour had between 50 and 60 at most of their races.

I hope they make a comeback!!! There are 2 of them setting in the shop and the closest place for us to go race them is OPP or MIS!!!!To me there is not enough of a difference in the lap times to justify the extra cost, but there is nothing better than to hear a 600+H.P. motor come to life and scream around the track.

Here's the weather forecast for the upcoming Snowball events:

post-29-1196003983_thumb.jpg

It looks like the weather will be good overall - but chilly at night. We're leaving on Wednesday evening. As I mentioned, I have media credentials and will try to keep y'all posted on TSZ.

I can't believe the Snowflake 100 already has 89 entries. It looks like the starting field is only 38, right?

If it stays in the 40's as night, that is better than usual.

And with the starting classs for the PLM around 36-38, they are going to have one heckuva B main. Or maybe two of them. And the Supers will have a wild one, also.

Deb, The list on the Five Flags site still has some drivers listed that will not be running for various reasons. the list on here has those drivers deleted...........Still, 82 Snowflake and 67 Snowball is plenty! LOL There will still probably be a few more before it's all said and done!

As always, txtom, I shop around all of the weather websites until I find the one I like! LOL

So, Pacecar, if it's gonna be so cold, you'll understand it if I load up the Suburban with lots of stuff??

And, Snowball, the schedule shows that the top 30 qualifiers are locked in for the Snowflake, and then two qualifying races are scheduled (25 laps each), with the top three advancing to the Snowflake - may only be 36 total. So, the odds are about 50% of the registered drivers to advance to the Snowflake - YIKES!

If the weather is like that, I will beat you up and take your Artic gear you always bring, and don't tell me it wouldn't fit. :P Looks like Thursday night will again be the coldest. Sounds like Sunday afternoon should be great racing weather. Debwill come by and say hello. We sit at the top of the last aisle in turn 4. You can't miss us. Just look for the ugly red headed guy, and you will find Snowball.

I'll look for y'all, Vir - looking forward to meeting y'all! Our reserved seats are in the temporary grandstands near Turn 1 - in Section I, Row 14, Seats 17 & 18. I'll also be hanging around the media tent.
