racin4fun
Hello all, Well maybe it is a good thing we got rained out last weekend, I just heard we may have the wrong gears for that track. We run in the Bomber class at CC and we have heard that you need to run 3:08's at SAS. We are running a turbo 350 trans. Does any one have any suggestions??? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
matt5858
I think that you need to run 3.42 Rear Gears and run your trans in second. If I remember a turbo 350 has a 1.52 second ratio. Anyway you want to have around 5.20 to 5.38 overall gear. Hope that helps you and GOOD LUCK!!!
SVCMNGR1
What Rpm range are you looking for? What size tires are you running? Not sure but I think second gear ratio was different depending on what the tranny came out of. Need to know for sure what 2nd and 3rd gear ratio is in your trans. ProTree
4:56 rear-run in 3rd gear-you can restart in 2nd and shift to 3rd
racin4fun
I am not sure on the ratio in 2nd or 3rd gear. We normally do not use 3rd gear. Would like 6500 RPM. Tires are 215's. The trans came out of a 86 Olds cutless supream ( Multi bolt pattern housing) if that helps at all. Thank you all so much for the suggestions. shirl347
Get 538 rear end gears, put it in drive and go.
