vl racing
Hats off to Mickey Helms for his sportmod championship, also congrats on pulling off a second with a worn out standby motor. It feels nice to beat'em with a low dollar home built, don’t it? Good luck on your probable track title in Edna as well.
texana55
Congrats Mickey! You've helped countless numbers of racers with their cars, many times putting your stuff on the back burner so they can run. I seldom run across someone who hasn't had help from you with either parts or labor. I can't count how many times I've talked to someone when they broke something and made it back for a feature and when asked how they did it they said, Mickey gave me this or Mickey had that, or Mickey came over to my car and fixed it. You're low key, no fanfare, and behind the scenes, but there are a great many racers that would be sidelined without your help. You're a throw back to the "good ole days" and a great example of how folks help each other out in the dirt track racing family. I try to help others when given the chance, and if I can help only a very small fraction of the number of people you've helped, I'll be accomplishing a lot. Congratulations to the Last Minute Racing Team on your I-37 Championship, and good luck on wrapping up a championship at Texana to cap it off for two in one year! Well said Monty, I couldnt agree with you more. Now I have to go disect a HEI distributor(that I just got from Mickey) to make a priming tool that will prime the oiling system on a spare motor(that I barrowed from Mickey)for my limited so that I can run.(If it ever quits raining) He is a great guy,and I am proud to call him my friend!! Now thats not saying he wont rub you if he needs by on the track, but rarely will he spin ya.....lol
