Keith Sandefur Texas Super Racing Series Race Preview:

Final Race of the 2003 Racing Season, San Antonio Speedway, Texas

“All good things must come to an end”

That is the theme for this weekend’s racing action at San Antonio Speedway. With the first weekend of the back-to-back season ending race called October “Fast” under its belt the Alamo City track is set to have a storm brewing to close out the year. Mary Ann Naumann’s Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) is set to conclude its inaugural season in style on the ½ mile track’s high banks as well as crown a 1st ever season points champion for the series that involves drivers from all over the state of Texas trying to prove that they can become the best of the best.

One of those drivers, Keith Sandefur of New Braunfels, Texas, is ready for the task of competing against Texas’ best Late Model drivers on one of his favorite tracks. Keith, the 1997 Longhorn Speedway (Austin, Texas) Super Stock track champion, has been preparing his #88 Lone Star Motorsports/ Champion Toyota/ GK Services/ Texas Jeep Outfitters/ Sweeney’s Performance and Machine/ McManus Welding Late Model all week in preparation for this weekend’s event. Keith has one other TSRS start this season at his home track of Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, Texas. That race had a disappointing finish after another car made contact with the Champion Toyota Machine and ended the race prematurely after a turning in a solid racing performance. With the team and sponsor slogan of “No Body Beats a Champion” the team will put that incident behind them and enjoy spending time with friends as well as compete against the best that series has to offer this up coming weekend.

It has already been a competitive year for the team. Keith ended the season at Thunderhill Raceway 9th in the final points standings. The team has also ventured into the Texas Asphalt Modified Series (TAMS) in the #44 Texas Jeep Outfitters/ Austin Performance, John Schultz’ owned car and had several competitive outings resulting in a finish within the top 20 season ending points standing

The Lone Star Motorsports team intends to run well for their fans, friends and sponsors as well as to help put on a great show this weekend. With all of the support that they have received this year the team wants to end the season on a high note at take that into the off season and build on that momentum for next year.
