NickHolt
Jamie Fuller's crew won the pit stop contest, started on the pole and smoked 'em for the first 65 laps - literally. It started out as a thin wisp of blue smoke in the early laps, but by the time the caution flew for the Competition yellow with 59 laps of the 125 laps left, the smoke was pretty think. The crew worked feverishly during the 10-minute mandatory stop, but the hole the headers had burned in the oil pan just wouldn't seal itself. So, after a couple of laps under green, the black flag flew for Jamie. Mike Yale inherited the lead as Fuller pulled off, but Mike pulled in with a flat tire after a dozen or two laps and suddenly it was Brad Hudak on the point, followed closely by last week's winner Tommy Gural and points leader Ronnie New. A few laps from the end, New squeezed under Gural for second and locked himself on Hudak's rear bumper. New tried everything but vasaline to slip get by, but Hudak was able to fend him off - at least until the very last corner of the very last lap. New got a great run coming off four, pulled along side Hudak and gave it all he had, but came up a foot or two short at the line. So it was Hudak, New and Gural taking home the race trophies. Of course, since Tommy Gural didn't win, the Triple Crown won't be won this year. Hopefully, full results and other perspectives of the race will be posted soon.
