T-MINUS 5 DAYS AND COUNTING DOWN TO THE 2003 SPACE CITY 125

HOUSTON, TEXAS, September 29, 2003 - There are only 5 days left until

the 2003 Space City 125 and the event organizers, track management and

race teams

are all are completing their final preparations for the big event. The

weather forecast for Friday and Saturday, October 3rd and 4th, is partly

cloudy with daytime

temperatures in the low 80's dipping into the high 60's at night with

less than a 20% chance of rain, absolutely perfect weather for racing.

The press and public are invited to visit the track at no charge on

Friday afternoon to view the facility as well as several of the race

cars that will be on hand

practicing for the race. On Saturday, October 4th, the racing action

will start at 7:30pm when teams will battle for the title of Pit Stop

Champion and the

green flag will drop on the 2003 Space City 125 at 9pm. Also appearing

will be the HMP Late Models, Allison Legacy cars and Bandoleros.

Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS) standout Tommy Gural will be gunning

for his 4th victory of the year and second in a row as he tries to take

the Texas Triple

Crown home to Elgin Texas. Gural, winner of race number one in the

three race series know as the Texas Triple Crown, comes to Houston with

momentum on his

side. But he isn't just eyeing the Texas Triple Crown; he also has his

sights set on the Texas Super Racing Series Championship Crown. Gural

trails championship points leader Ronny New of Austin, Texas by a mere

30 points heading into this weekends race at Houston Motorsports Park

(formerly Houston Motor Speedway). With two races remaining in the

inaugural TSRS season the summers long points battle is shaping up to be

real nail biter that could be decided

this weekend in Houston or go down to the wire in San Antonio on October

11th, the final race of the Texas Triple Crown. There is a lot on the

line this weekend and it is sure to be a fun and exciting night filled

with typical Saturday night bull ring short track racing action.

Houston Motorsports Park is located to the northeast of the city at

11620 Lake Houston Parkway, phone 281.458.1972; driving directions can

be found on web at www.houstonmotorsportspark.com. For more information
