whatsup
This is an issue that has bothered me for some time. How are the drivers supposed to control their fans in the grandstands and be in the pits or on the track racing.. I feel that if a fan is in the grand stand and is making a problem let the security guards deal with them rather than telling the drivers to deal with it . The drivers job is to drive not play security guard in the stands.. Just my thoughts on the matter Thanks
yank
I TOTALLY agree with you. In the pits it is busy and intense when you are getting ready to race. Meanwhile, people are in the stands tipping back beer,& wine coolers. Tempers flare if your driver is booed by someone sitting near you. How is that controlable by the driver getting ready to race, or racing. The security guards are paid to keep the fans under control and I see signs everywhere on NO PROFANITY. That should not reflect on the driver or risk action taken on that driver.
NickHolt
Most racing organizations require that the team's driver or crew chief be accountable for the conduct of their team members whether they are situated in the grandstands as a spotter or in the pits. However, I have never heard of an organization that requires the team to be accountable for the behavior of their fans in the stands. I suppose that if the spouse or close relative of a driver were making a ruckus in the stands the track might might well ask the driver or crew chief to ask that person to behave. whatsup
Yes I agree that if the fans were also crew memebers or family that maybe to a certain extent the driver should control them but not the average joe citizen fan . racin4fun
I agree as well. The drivers family and friends should know to watch what they say in the stands. Everyone has the right to cheer or boo for who they want but, that is no reason to be cussing the other drivers or their crew. If someone boo's your favorit driver they have that right and you should not start a fight with them over it or throw anything at them. I think the security guards should escort anyone who trys to start a fight with others.
