SassyCassie14
Tri-City Speedway to Host Dwarfs by Bill Morris Race fans are in for a special treat this weekend when the Texana Classic Dwarf Cars compete on the dirt banks of the Tri-City Speedway. This popular class of race cars takes race fans back to the start of stock car racing, when the “slam bang” dirt track competition featured coupes and sedans, with all the extra parts removed. Today’s Dwarf Car is a scaled down version of the early dirt track cars, designed to be 3/8th the size of the original. While the Dwarf Car looks old style, they incorporate the latest in modern racing technology; with an adjustable chassis, race tires, and all the latest in safety equipment. 1200cc modified motorcycle engines power the lightweight cars, which post lap times quicker than many of their late model big brothers. The special Dwarf Cars’ visit to the Tri-City Speedway will guarantee race fans a unique addition to the excitement of Friday night dirt track racing on the ¼ mile oval. Joining the Dwarf Cars will be the regular competitors in three stock car divisions(pure, street, super) and two IMCA Modified divisions, along with the Texas Outlaw Modifieds. The first green flag is scheduled to fly at 8:00pm. The Tri-City Speedway, Pleasantons address for auto racing; is located on the frontage road of I-37 at the 101 mile marker.
