Troutman, NC (04/05/2007) - Current ASALMS Challenge Division Points Leader, Colt James will carry a 15-point lead over Eddie Hoffman heading into the Glass Breaker 200 at the Toledo (OH) Speedway on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, 2007.

James had the field covered last week in the Music City Spring Clash 200 at Nashville’s Music City Motorplex leading the first 120 laps of the race! But a plug wire came loose and dropped Colt’s car to just seven cylinders for the remainder of the race.

Colt still came home in 7th place to keep in the Championship hunt. “I think a piece of debris came up and knocked the plug wire off. We were fast right off the truck and kept picking up speed all weekend,” said James. “I was flat footing around the track at the end and it really drove great which kept us up there.”

New Sponsor Joins Colt James Racing: Colt James Racing is proud to add Dickerson Machinery as a sponsor starting this week at Nashville. “I want to thank Terry Dickerson for helping us out this week. Our sponsors are keeping us going and we couldn’t do this without them,” said Colt James.

Dickerson Machinery joins Colt’s other sponsors that include Magnum Trailers, Wells Cargo, Design Welding, and RaceTalkRadio.com.

Meet Colt James: Despite missing the first two races in the ASA Late Model Series Southern Division last season, this twenty-three year old from Buda, Texas finished seventh in the point’s standings with one win in the Kenly 100 at Southern National Raceway Park. Colt won the 2007 season opener in the Challenge Division at San Antonio.

His family oriented race team is allowing Colt James to chase his racing dreams. “Our main focus is on the Southern Division this season but we hope to also make as many Challenge Division races as possible.” Colt has his sights set on the Southern Division championship this season! When he is not driving in races, Colt James is working on engines at the famed Roush-Yates Engine Department.
