The sky was gray and overcast, but with 104 cars in the pits, another large crowd saw some great racing on the smooth ¼ dirt track, presented by Kwik Kar Oil & Lube. Great racing lifted the spirits of all, and the night was bright and exciting.

Track owner, and promoter, Pat Wilson spent over six hours this week on a pneumatic roller, attempting to smooth out the track after last week. The effort payed off as the track was in very good shape, with just the top of the entrance in turn one a bit bumpy. Many of the winners praised the smoothness of the track.

Seven Cottman Transmissions Teen Mini Stocks took to the track for ten laps of racing action. It turned out to be a terrific dual between Joseph Charnock and Travis Zwiefelhofer. Charnock got the early lead from his inside row two starting spot. T. Zweifelhofer, up from his sixth starting spot was hounding Charnock by lap five. The two fought hard, with T. Zeifelhofer looking inside at nearly every turn. On lap eight, the lead changed hands three times in as many turns, as first it was T. Zwiefelhofer getting ahead in turn two, then losing it to Charnock in turn three, but T. Zwiefelhofer used an inside out move to get back the lead in turn four.

They would race hard to the checkers, with Charnock trying just a bit to hard, with a bonzi move in turn four that saw the young man almost spin out, letting T. Zwiefelhofer to win by only a car length. This was Travis Zwiefelhofer's first win of the year. His sister, Julie Kelly Zwiefelhofer, who came into the night with one win, and the points lead, retains that points lead on the strength of her third place finish.

The Budweiser Racing Texas Twisters were next on the track, with nineteen cars to compete in a fifteen lap feature race. Pole sitter Michael Hillard got the jump on the wave of the green flag and never looked back, winning his first race of the year easily. There were good battles back in the pack, with Keith Desmarais getting the runner up spot, over Brad Garrison and Matthew Fitzgerald. Charlie Laidley rounded out the top five.

Gary White came into the night with a three point lead in the championship race, but due to a bad night, falls to third, ten points behind new points leader, Keith Desmarais, and four behind second place, J. D. Hardcastle.

Twenty-three Cleo Bay Honda Street Stocks were on hand as the night started, but only twenty-two started the twenty lap feature. In the hear races, Jeremy Adkins got clipped by a spinning car on the back stretch, sending Adkins head over tea kettle in a barrel roll. Adkin's car came to a rest facing backwards on the back stretch, but on it's remaining three wheels. Adkins, thankfully, was unhurt. He walked away, shaken, but not stirred.

Danny Dunn, the pole sitter, got the early jump, as the feature race started. By lap three, Robert Simmerman, going for three wins in a row, was in sixth, after starting twelfth. On lap four, Dunn lost the lead, as both Brian Fuller and Mitch Tierney got around him. Dunn fought back hard, but perhaps a bit too hard, as he and Dunn crashed in turn three, bringing out the yellow flag.

Tierney would lead the restart, but Simmerman, who restarted third, got around both B. Fuller and Tierney, and would lead the rest of the way, pulling out to a half track lead. Trevor Sparkman had a good run to come home second, holding off a determined B. Fuller. Simmerman is the only Cleo Bay Honda Street Stock driver to win this year, and has four point lead over Sparkman in the championship.

Pole sitter Kenny Ware would lead the seventeen car field on the first of fifteen laps, in the Danny's Transmission I. M. C. A. Southern SportMods feature race. But Ware's lead didn't last long as he spun high in turn one, but everyone missed him and he would continue with a need for a yellow. That put inside row two starter, Scotty Wallace in the lead. But it seemed that the lead was cursed, at least early in the race, as Wallace did a tank slapper down the front stretch, on lap two. Getting caught up in that incident, was Sid Kiphen, Larry Ware and Mike McDougal. All cars would be done for the night.

That gave the lead to P. J. Egbert, with Kevin Green, Shad Stevens and T. J. Green and Keith White as the top five. Egbert's lead would last for ten laps, until K. Green got around him with a daring move in turn two. Over the last two laps, K. Green stretched his lead to five car lengths, winning his first race of the year. K. Green started fifth. Keith White holds the points lead, six ahead of Eric Tomlinson. There is only fifteen points between the top five of White, Tomlinson, T. J. Green, Albert Wininger, Jr and K. Green.

Fifteen Corbin & Associates, Atty's I. M. C. A. Stock Cars were up next for their fifteen lap feature race. Jason Bogard would get the lead on the drop of the green flag, but it didn't last long, as he spun in turn two, scrabling the pack. Vernon “Buck” Owens got the lead out of the scrum. He would lead for two laps, until “Easy E” Eric Jones got the lead in another scramble in turn four. Jones would be challenged by Benji Kirkpatrick, with Kirkpatrick getting the lead in turn one, when Jones got a little too high. But Jones was given the lead back, as there was a caution involving Robin Rasmussen and D. J. MacWilliams.

The top five for the restart on lap eight was Jones, Kirkpatrick, Owens, Norman, and Bogard. On lap ten there was a scary accident involving Jason “The Acro” Batt and Owens. Batt got hooked hard into the front stretch wall at the turn one end. The impact was so hard, the car left the ground and did a full three-sixty flat spin and came to a rest on his wheels in turn one. Batt was unhurt, though very dissapointed.

Jones had to hold off a determined Kirkpatrick for the final seven laps, winning his second race of the year by a half car length. Jones and Kirkpatrick are tied for the points lead, both on one hundred eighteen points.

The twenty-three fire breathing, ground pounding, Dodge Country I. M. C. A. Modifieds were up for their twenty lap feature race. Pole sitter, Gregg Killingsworth lead the first two laps. On the second try to restart the race on lap two, after a Anthony Otken spin, and then Glenn Dirks stopped car, G. Killingsworth, Allen Waltimire and Jason Hoffman went three wide in turn four, with Hoffman getting the lead, with G. Killingsworth in second, Waltimire in third.

G. Killingsworth would be out of the running for the win on lap five, as he pulled into the red-yellow during a caution brought out for J. D. Schleis' spun car in turn three. Hoffman now had Waltimire behind him, followed by P. J. Egbert, Brian Killingsworth, and Andrew Simmerman. On the restart, Hoffman bobbled in turn two, bottling Waltimire behind him, and allowing Egbert to grab the lead. Hoffman would fade the rest of the race.

At the crossed flages, it was Egbert out front, followed by Waltimire, B. Killingsworth, Pat McGuire, and Keith White. B. Killingsworth got around Waltimire on lap ten, taking over second. On lap sixteenth, White got around McGuire for fourth. As the white flag was being waved, White, McGuire, and Simmerman all got around Waltimire for third, fourth, and fifth. Egbert won by half a straight away to claim his second win of the year from the tenth starting spot. McGuire holds the points lead, six ahead of White. Egbert is seven points out of the lead in third.
