kartracer18 Posted August 5, 2003 Report Share Posted August 5, 2003 The driver of the # 69 shifter kart who was involved in an accident Saturday night at San Antonio Speedway is a 17 year old from Austin. I spoke to him on the telephone Sunday afternoon. He informed me he was released from the hospital the same night. He sustained a fractured collarbone (cracked, not broken) and some scrapes and bruises. Despite the accident, he said he had a great time racing at SAS and will return there the next time the karts race there. Thanks to the SAS officials who immediately dispatched the safety crew to the scene, as well as the safety crew who did an excellent job in taking extreme precaution regarding any possible injuries the driver sustained.
