TSRS Presents the TSRS Late Models @ Texas World Speedway - August 5th & 6th, 2006

 

Group #: TSRS-Late Models are group # 10.

Friday, August 4th:

 

Test & Tune Opportunity: (not required. - fee is 200.00. TWS prefers teams to register on-line if not, then print and fax so they can get a count of how many are going to be there on Friday for test & tune. http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/testandtune.php

Note: If a driver/car owner sends in the registration form on- line, but are unable to make it, TWS will not charge your credit card. TWS Contact for Friday only- Rusty Rush 979.690.2500.

There is no fee for any crews or families that are with the drivers on test and tune day.

A Drivers/Spotters/Crews meeting (with Clifton-NASA-Race Director) is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Friday (this is not mandatory, although it should be very informative as to available track information)

 

Camping - There is a 15.00 camping fee for the weekend. No water or electric hookups. They do have showers and restrooms, so bring your generators.

Note: If you are going to be apart of test & tuning on Friday, you may camp on Thursday, but if you are not, they prefer you to come in on Friday.

On Thursday & Friday if you need electric, you possibly can pull up to one of the garages and hook up with an extension cord, although after practice on Friday NASA is going to attempt to put all TSRS teams together.

Camping will be near or with your Pit Area.

Coming up to camp with trailers or dropping off trailers on Thursday - gates will be open around 6:30pm (if you can go under the tunnel with your RV/trailer) If not, the front gate will open around 7: 00 pm.

 

Pit Entrance: any age is allowed in the pit area.

 

Pit Lane: must be 18 years or older to cross the wall (excluding TSRS drivers).

 

Race Registration fee: 305.00 with NASA-nothing to TSRS.

includes 3 two-day Pit Passes.

There is a LATE FEE of $ 40.00 if you register 0-6 days prior to the dates.

Note: when registering with NASA:

TSRS does not need to have a NASA license.

TSRS does not need a Doctor's release completed.

Also, on the NASA Registration form-it has a fee for TIME TRIALS -TSRS does not have to pay for qualifying (This is a class of its own).

 

Additional Pit Passes: 15.00 (includes both Sat/Sun)

 

Spectators: 10.00 (includes both Sat/Sun- might bring lawn chairs)

 

Pets: not allowed.

 

Alcohol Beverages: race teams - none during the day until everything is finished.

 

Golf carts: are allowed, driver must be at least 16 years with a current driver’s license.

 

Two wheel standup motorized vehicles: not allowed.

 

Driver’s responsibility: must watch conduct, sportsmanship, etc including, crew & family members, anyone with their car.

 

Food/Drinks: you can bring your own food and drinks

 

Additional NASA Rules: are to be found on NASA website--on the left side look under rules then on the next page click club rules (they are the host of this event)

 

 

 

NASA Flags: (we will be running under these)

on page 47, 48, 49 are the Track flags that they use and what they mean.

Note: Yellow Flag-motionless (absolutely no passing)

Double yellow flags means (full course yellow condition exists)

 

Qualifying: estimated time -15 minutes on the track.

All TSRS cars will qualify at the same time.

Best lap time out of the 15 minutes will be the driver’s fastest time. Note: if for some reason a driver needs to come in to make adjustments:

If the driver goes onto pit lane, then their laps count prior to entering the pit lane and if they enter back onto the track, all laps count.

If the driver goes to their trailer/pit area and they return to the track, their laps prior to coming in will not count, they will start over.

 

The Transponders/Scoring: each car MUST have a transponder on at all times.

TSRS only has 6 for rent @ 50.00 for the weekend.

the first 6 that reserve - will get them.

After our Series is on the track at any time, NASA will have the times posted in the Drivers lounge.

 

Saturday, August 5th:

Drivers/Spotters Meeting: MANDATORY

any driver not in attendance will start scratch.

those drivers will be able to participate in the qualifying session, although times will not count.

 

Race Laps: scheduled for 20 minutes including warm up laps.

it is estimated that each lap will take at least 1.5 to 2 minutes per lap; we are looking at approximately 10 laps on the 2.9 course.

 

Weight & Scaling: will take place prior to Qualifying and prior to the start of Race Event.

cars must be at their designated weight @ time of weighing.

once qualifying is completed,

all cars will be impounded.

Should a car pull out of impound – those cars will be required to re-weigh.

 

Pitting on Race Day - if a driver goes to their trailer/pit area, they CAN NOT go back out.

 

Points: this is a TSRS point’s event.
