Car Count Continues to Rise at Texana Raceway Park By Chelle Brown

 

Nearly 100 drivers turned out in the June Heat to take their turn chasing the checkered flag. With a high car count in most every class there was lots of excitement and many cautions to keep the night busy for everyone, especially the wrecker drivers.

 

Mini Stocks started out the feature events of the evening Kassey Champion of Alvin taking the checkered flag. Nicholas Moore of Victoria was close behind in second place and Emily Hayesof Victoria in a close third.

 

The Dwarf division saw Dave Tedford of Adkins edge out Frank Fruia of Wallis for the checkered flag. Stew Savage of Bay City rounded out the top three.

 

The Bomber division saw a large line up of cars again this weekend, but the end result was favorable for many of the drivers finished the race. Monty Chamberlain of Louise took the checkered flag with Gary Blanchard of Freeport close on his bumper. Jonathan Arterberry of Victoria took third place.

 

In the Street Stock class John Gay of Rosharon took the checkered flag with J.J. Jennings of Edna taking a second. Andrew Mann of Louise came in third.

 

The Hot Stock Truck Class saw Kirk Loos of Victoria take the checkered flag. Bob Ort of Inez took second place with Darryl Davis of Victoria coming in third.

 

Scott Turner of Sheridan continues his winning ways in the Super Stock class. A.J. Dancer of Red Rock would take a second place finish with Adam Perks of El Campo coming in third.

 

The Late Model class saw Kevin Migura of Victoria take the checkered flag for yet another time. Vince Kacir of Port Lavaca took second place and Kevin Barnhart of Port Lavaca completed the top three.

 

The SportsMod division saw Aaron Hudgeons of Cuero take the checkered flag again. David Boggs of Pleasanton would come in second with Chad Cambron not far behind in third.

 

Art Rodriguez of Richmond would take the checkered flag in the IMCA Modified class with Bill Pittaway of Corpus Christi on his bumper coming in second. Mickey Helms of Victoria finished up the top three.

 

It was another great night of racing action at Texana Raceway Park but, you won't want to miss our 2 day race on July 7th and 8th. Friday, July 7th will feature Heat races for Dwarfs, Bombers, Street Stock, Super Stock, and Late Model Classes; Heat and Feature Races for Mini Stocks and Hot Stock Trucks; and also a Demolition Derby, paying $1,000 to the winner. Saturday night will have Feature Races for Dwarfs, Bombers, Street Stock, Super Stock, and Late Model Classes; Heat and Feature Races for SportMod and IMCA Modified classes; and there will also be a large bicycle give away for children 13 and under.

 

Racing will return to Texana Raceway Park on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8th starting at 7:30pm. The track is located 3 miles southeast of Highway 59 on Highway 111 just out of Edna, Texas.

Nice finish by AJ in super stocks. Congratulations on your finishing position. Good race by all of the drivers in super stocks.

 

Also, good to see Andrew Mann finish well in the street stocks. He's been trying to get that new car dialed in and it was good to see him handling well and running up in the front pack. Nice driving by John Gay on the win also. That car was flying.

 

Looking forward to the 7th and 8th. Should be a great weekend.
