NickHolt Posted June 22, 2006 Report Share Posted June 22, 2006 For Immediate Release - June 21, 2006 From Bill Martin, IMCA Public Relations 319 472-2201, x225 Firecracker Shootout at Lubbock Motor Speedway sports July 2 & 3 features for IMCA Southern SportMods LUBBOCK, Texas (June 21) Lubbock Motor Speedway's Firecracker Shootout special will feature a pair of $400 to win events for IMCA Jeff's Performance Southern SportMods. National and Smiley's Racing Products state points will also be given for the Sunday, July 2 and Monday, July 3 races. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 6 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing gets under-way at 7:30 p.m. Admission for the Sunday and Monday shows is $10 for adults and $5 for kids, while five and under are admitted free. Fireworks are planned during intermission both nights, or after the race program if it's not dark enough for pyrotechnics when it¹s time for the break. Southern SportMods chase a top check of $250 at the weekly show at Lubbock Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 1, when admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids, with five and under free. Track, state and national points will be given that evening. Pit passes are $25 each night.
