NickHolt
Aug. 1 is IMCA deadline for submitting contingency sign-up forms, car photos Vinton, IOWA (May 10, 2006) - The red letter date for IMCA drivers to return contingency sign-up forms and pictures of their race cars proving display of required decals is Tuesday, Aug. 1. ³Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers all receive sign-up sheets in the packet that includes their decals,² IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. ³Packets have been mailed to all drivers who have purchased licenses, in-cluding a separate mailing of SuperFlow decals to Modified drivers who didn¹t receive them in their original packet.² The same deadline applies for Modified and Stock Car drivers to mail or email pictures of their car to Yoder, at the IMCA home office, to be eligible for national and regional point fund checks. ³That¹s not contingencies, that¹s cash,² he said. ³No matter where drivers think they¹re going to finish nationally or in their region, it¹s important that they send in sign-up sheets and photos because it¹s always possible that they¹re going to get something.² ³Sign-up sheets don¹t take that long to fill out and they only cost 39 cents to mail in. They can be faxed in, too, for the chance to earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of contingency awards,² he added. Sponsors with programs requiring sign-up forms in the Modified division include AFCO, Bilstein, Enginequest, Gaerte, Holley Performance, Hyperco, Moser Engineering, MSD Ignition, QA1 Motorsports, Racing Head Service and TCI Automotive. Stock Car drivers must return sign-up forms to be eligible for contingencies from AFCO, Bilstein, Bushore Enter-prises, Clark Performance Products, Enginequest, Moser, MSD, Performance Distributors, QA1 and TCI. Sign-up forms for the Hobby Stocks are required for Bilstein, Bushore, Clark, Performance Distributors, QA1 and TCI awards. Drivers in all three divisions may also be required to provide proof of product purchase from sponsors so Yoder ad-vises they keep any receipts. Pictures can be emailed to Yoder at kyoder@imca.com. Photos, sign-up forms and rookie of the year applications can be mailed to Box 921, 1800 West D Street in Vinton, Iowa, 52349. The IMCA fax number is 319 472-2218. ³Rookie of the year applications are also due Aug. 1,² Yoder said. ³Drivers don¹t have to be national rookies of the year to earn awards. Once they have filled out and returned that form, for example, they¹re eligible to receive a gift pack-age from Speedway Motors following their first feature win.² Rookie sign-up forms are published in the point section of the Inside IMCA newsletter and can also be submitted electronically through the www.imca.com website.
