Texana Raceway Park to Host Demolition Derby … By Bill Morris

 

Texana Raceway Park officials announced that the South Texas racing facility will be the site of a Demo Derby. The “Come and Watch'em Crash the Party” event is scheduled for July 7th, the first night of Texana Raceway Park’s second annual two day event. The driver of the last car running will take home the top prize of $1,000.00, with $300.00 going to the runner-up. For those wishing to enter the competition, rules and information is available at the track ticket office or on the internet at texanaracewaypark.org.

 

Joining the Demo Derby on Friday evening will be a race program featuring qualifying heats for selected stock car divisions. Many of the qualifying stock car drivers will return on Saturday to join the modified divisions to compete in “Big One’s” feature events for added prize money.

 

This Saturday night, May 13th is Ladies Night at Texana Raceway Park. The first 100 ladies will receive a beautiful carnation, courtesy of Edna's All about Flowers, and lady drivers will be introduced and given special positions in the race line-ups. Texana Raceway Park is located on Highway 111, three miles southeast of Highway 59. Racing starts at 8:00pm.
