USRA Super Late Models Set for Big Thunder Hill Raceway Show this Saturday

San Antonio, TX (April 26, 2006) – The fastest short track stock cars in Texas are about to invade Thunder Hill Raceway (THR) in Kyle, Texas. The United States Racing Association (USRA) Super Late Model Series will be competing in an action-packed 125-lap featured event at the three-eighth-mile, D-shaped oval this Saturday evening, April 29, 2006.

“We are looking for about twenty of our Super Late Models to take the green flag for this event,” USRA Race Director Rick Day said. “Our drivers really like the THR facility because it places such a premium on finding the right suspension set up and on driver skill and ability. Horsepower is nice, but if your car isn’t handling right at Kyle you’re in big trouble.”

Several of the top USRA SLM drivers are expected to make their presence felt and should be counted among the favorites. Austin’s Casey Smith, winner of the USRA SLM season-opener at San Antonio Speedway last month and the current USRA SLM points leader, Pearland’s Chris Davidson, who is second in the standings, and his father, veteran driver Greg Davidson, who trails his son by only three points, have clearly proven that they know their way around the tricky THR oval.

Other likely front-runners include San Antonio’s Joe Aramendia, Austin’s Todd McLemore, former USRA champion Tommy Grimes of San Antonio, Houston’s T. Wade Welch along with rookie Matt Merrell of Portland who finished a strong fifth in the USRA season opener.

The USRA Super Late Models be sharing the THR spotlight with the always exciting Texas Pro Sedans in a 20-lap feature, the Lone Star Legacy Series (50-lap feature), the Sportsman Modifieds in a 50-lap feature along with the NASCKARTS and the regular weekly THR racing divisions – the Hobby Stocks, the Street Stocks and the Grand Stocks.

The THR grandstands open at 4:00 p.m. with time trials getting under way at 5:00 p.m. For more information about Thunder Hill Raceway visit www.thunderhillraceway or call their box

office at (512) 262-1352. For more information about the USRA Super Late Model Series log onto http://www.USRAspeed.com.

Thunder Hill Raceway is located just south of Austin at 24801 IH 35 in Kyle, Texas.
