The world premier screening will be held at the Downtown Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (409 Colorado) in Austin, Texas. Austin filmmaker and University of Texas graduate Merle Bertrand, has been filming and editing for over two seasons at Thunder Hill Raceway in an effort to capture the thrills and passion of the grass roots racing scene. Bertrand is no stranger to the magical world of movies, having worked for seven-years in Los Angeles before starting work on this documentary. Bertrand has worked on everything from multi-million dollar commercials to Roger Corman-esque $30,000 exploitation films. Bertrand served as a producer and/or First Assistant Director on such award-winning independent feature films as "Seeking the Café Bob," "What I Like About You," and the gripping World War II psychological drama "Master of the Game." Bertrand and co-producer, Kristina Weber are also using the premier as a fund raiser benefit with part of the proceeds going to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, founded by NASCAR driver, Kyle Petty. Petty built the special camp in honor of his son, Adam Petty, who was taken from the world in a pre-race accident several years ago. The filmmakers are also donating a part of the proceeds to the Thunder Hill Raceway Driver point's Fund. Tickets are available for $4.50 at the door or you can go online to order and guarantee a seat for this exciting event. Please visit www.alamodrafthouse.com for ticket information.
