The Budweiser Racing Texas Twisters make their racing debut this Saturday night. This exciting, new, and innovative class of cars are the biggest thing to hit Texas since... well, the last big tornado. “These are cars that race, not race cars”, says track promoter, Pat Wilson. The concept is simply. Get a mid-size, compact FWD car with either a 4 or 6 cylinder engine. Then take the glass out, the trim off, and put a roll over hoop in. Add a window net and safety harness and you have a car that can compete. The truly innovative part comes from the fact that the cars can be claimed for $500. Anyone in attendance can put their $500 up before the feature race starts and claim the winner's car. Complete and ready to race next week. Come out and see Nasty Nate from 107.3 FM, The Fox Rocks drive in his very own Budweiser Racing Texas Twister. The night's racing will be presented by The National Banks of Central Texas. Also for the children, Ace Hardware is sponsoring the Kid's Easter Egg Scramble! Children through 12 years of age, bring your Easter Baskets, as we will let you on the track to collect as many eggs as you can before the horn blows. There are LOTS of special prizes to be had in the eggs. New for fans this year is the ability to purchase their tickets online with a credit card. Just go to the Texas Thunder Speedway web site, and click on the “Buy and Print Tickets” button. Also you can use your Visa or Master Card in the tracks souvenir and concession stands. Gates open at 6:00 PM and racing starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $3 for kids 6-12 and kids under 6 are free. Season passes are available as well.
