NickHolt Posted April 10, 2006 Report Share Posted April 10, 2006 Here are a few highlights from the Samsung/RadioShack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway · Kasey Kahne was the fastest driver on the frontstretch, backstretch, and the turns coming out of the corners (Turns 2 and 4). But Kahne was not as dominant going into the corners, as he was 14th fastest in Turn 1 and seventh fastest in Turn 3. · Rookie Denny Hamlin had the highest Average Running Position of 3.482. Kasey Kahne was second at 4.865. · Kasey Kahne’s three fastest laps were at the end of the race, where he was so dominant (laps 320-322). · Kasey Kahne ran in the top 15 for 333 of 334 laps. · Fifth-place finisher Kevin Harvick was the top Closer, moving up seven positions in the final 10 percent of the race. · Carl Edwards finished 36th in the race but finished in ninth place in the Driver Rating with a 91.3. · Scott Riggs, the seventh-place finisher, was number one in the Fastest Driver Late in a Run category. He was also the leader in the “Laps Driver Improved Position” category, improving his position on 51 laps. Riggs also had the most green flag passes for position with 76. · Robby Gordon had the second-highest amount of green flag passes with 73. HORSEPOWER Posted April 10, 2006 Report Share Posted April 10, 2006 I guess the racing has gotten so boring, they decided to start keeping stats on other things. This Texas race was not too bad though. Pretty soon there will be body temperature stats and show how many ounces of gatorade each driver had.
