Waco Racer Posted April 29, 2006 Author Report Share Posted April 29, 2006 MARCH 2006 HIGHLIGHTS It was a wonderful and amazing weekend for the first Texas Mile event of the 2006 season in Goliad County, Texas. The weather was great and so were the many drivers and riders that came from many parts of Texas near and far. Some folks made their way from Colorado, Michigan, Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. Thank you for helping the Texas Mile become such a success and to the spectators that support our riders and drivers. We had 7 teams and 63 individuals for a total of 70 competitors. We had many compliments from the local spectators that we continue to provide the best in fun and safe entertainment for everyone. The Goliad Chamber of Commerce welcomed our guest and we are thankful for their helping hand and greeting everyone. ** Tommy Banh now holds Top Speed for Unlimited Street Car- 201.750. This is a new record for this class. ** Russ Montgomery obtained the Top Speed for the event and the top speed for this event for all motorcycles- 209.259. ** Most Runs Overall and for Motorcycles goes to Bruce Keene on his motorcycle: Yamaha/R1/Blk : 20 RUNS ** Most Runs for Vehicles goes to Larry Jezek: Chevy/Corvette/1997/Black: 18RUNS We hope to see you a lot of you back in October and hope to see many new faces.
