By: Pat Mayberry

Ryan Englehardt and 2005 defending series champion, Chris Schild, paced the field in Friday night’s Texas Super Racing Series practice for the K-MAC 75 at Houston Motorsports Park (HMP). Englehardt led the opening practice session with a 15.080. In the second and third sessions Englehardt ran second to Schild who clocked a 14.967 in the second round and a 14.912 in round three.

“We still have some work to do,” said Schild of his third practice run. “We are going to scuff in some tires tonight. We’re in the ballpark and will be able to adjust on it tomorrow. We hope practice conditions tonight will be real similar to tomorrow night’s race conditions. We’ve got a pretty consistent car so hopefully things will stay the same and we will make minor adjustments during practice.”
