Webster Successful At HMP Practice

By: Pat Mayberry

Ian Webster had a career season in 2005, finishing third in the Texas Super

racing Series season point race. If Webster's Friday night testing at

Houston Motorsports Park is any indication, the competition better bring

their "A" game to the season opener next weekend.

As Webster rolled his familiar yellow #13 Chevrolet Monte Carlo off the

trailer, he was full of optimism about the upcoming season. "I'm pretty

excited about this season and hopefully we can do as good as last year or

maybe even a little bit better," said Webster. "There is a lot of tough

competition in our series, so I'm out here doing my homework. We've made

some changes and have found some stuff, so I'm feeling positive."

Webster struggled with handling during his first practice session,

especially in the middle of the turns. After lots of tweaking of springs

rates, spring rubbers and a couple trips to the scales, Webster had found

nearly half a second from when he arrived. "It's never fast enough, but we

can't complain. We're happy with everything tonight," mused Webster between

practice sessions.

Webster and the rest of the Texas Super Racing Series will be opening the

fourth season for the late model touring series on Saturday, March 18th at

HMP. The beautiful high banked tri-oval always produces great racing and

has been the site of the two closest finishes in series history. Fans

attending are sure to see a great show. For more information on the Texas
