The Paint Party scheduled for this evening is being cancelled. The weather is supposed to clear up tonight, so the “Test & Tune” open practice session is still on schedule for tomorrow, February 11. Cars and trucks from all tracks and series are invited to the practice session that begins at 12:00 p.m. The pit gate will open at 11:00 a.m., and practice will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. “We encourage all race teams to take this opportunity to get their cars ready for the upcoming season,” stated Rick Day, San Antonio Speedway General Manager. Day added, “It won’t be long until the 2006 season gets underway, and we hope to see lots of drivers at practice so they’re ready to race when the season opens.” Pit gate admission for the practice session is $20, and grandstand admission is free. No concessions will be available, so teams and fans are asked to bring their own food and drinks for the day. Additional practice sessions are also scheduled for the same times on the next two Saturdays (February 18 and February 25). Following the February 25 practice sessions, drivers, teams and fans are invited to join the San Antonio Speedway staff in a “Meet and Greet” party. San Antonio Speedway is located 3.5 miles south of Loop 410 on Texas State Highway 16 towards Poteet. Their website is http://www.sanantoniospeedway.com.
