HORSEPOWER
Sad to hear Spanky passed away. Got this from another site. Prayers go out to his family, may God be with them. I remember last talking to Spanky at the Snowball a few years back, he was one of the nicest person you will ever meet. He always talked to my family and I, he will always be in our hearts. http://p220.ezboard.com/fspeed51shorttrack...picID=845.topic http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/apps/pbcs...DH0101/60125001 Edited January 27, 2006 by HORSEPOWER
Truck99
Met John a few times years ago when he was at THR racing super late models. Very sad news. Sounds like he left us doing something he enjoyed. Our prayers are with his family. cs

HORSEPOWER
Yeah that's him. I think he raced late models at SAS, then ROMCO, ASA. Got this picture from Kris Frost's website. http://www.frostracing.com/index.html

NeilTPS
John Silverthorne's first several super late model races were not with ROMCO, SAS, THR or ASA. His first races were during the period of 1996 and 1997 in the TIDA Late Model Series. He called me and asked if he could meet me at our next TIDA-LM race. I said certainly. He came to Sooner International Raceway in Altus, Oklahoma. Shortly thereafter he started his LM racing career. He had good financial and technical resources. He and his Dallas based team built an impressive fleet of race cars and competed in several TIDA-LM races. I was sorrowed to hear of John's fatal snowmobile accident in Wisconsin. John Silverthorne was a good and gentle man. Those who knew him will miss his presence on racing scene. I will miss him.
